About
Hello!
My name is Christine Phillips, and I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician based in Colorado.
I want to share my journey with you. When I was practicing in a corporate, academic setting, it was not possible to take the time to treat my patients for what I call “maladies of daily living”. This includes health concerns like fatigue, digestive distress, insomnia, depression, anxiety, etc.
The stress of feeling like I couldn’t address these led to a deeper understanding of what my patients were feeling. We were all experiencing burnout! When I ended up sitting on the other side of the exam table due to severe fatigue, I knew something had to change. The lab tests from my primary care doctor were coming back as “normal”. The way I felt was anything but normal. Even as a physician, I felt stuck and unable to find help. It wasn’t until I found my own functional medicine practitioner that I started to improve.
My own journey through post-viral fatigue syndrome is what prompted me to begin training in functional medicine.

- My mission in functional medicine is NOT to replace traditional medicine. At the end of the day, I am still a passionate champion of primary care. But I have first-hand experience with the limitations of our current healthcare model, and I have witnessed first-hand how it fails so many of my patients.
- My job is to partner with your primary care provider and other specialists who care for you to ensure that we are treating a whole person and not just treating you like a set of numbers and figures.
- My vision for patient care is to foster an environment of supportive healing—taking time to listen to your symptoms, creating individualized treatment plans tailored to you, looking for root causes of disease, utilizing natural medicine that is backed by scientific data, and coaching you on critical lifestyle changes.
- My practice utilizes advanced, next-generation laboratory testing and thorough medical records review.
- I am also here to help guide you through the traditional medicine space when necessary. It can be chaotic and confusing. Sometimes it feels impossible to know where you need to go and how to advocate for yourself.

If you have ever been told that you’re “normal” even though you feel anything but normal then functional medicine may be for you.
